How do I use the EquiTreks trail information?

The Trail Attributes and Access Information document – which is a free download for all registered visitors – provides

  • an inventory of conditions that are encountered on the trail so you have a reasonable idea of what to expect, including photos
  • a description of the road to and the features of the staging area and an inventory and explanation of the conditions on the trail, complete with photos


Once you’ve found a trail you want to ride, the EquiTreks trail information helps you …


… get ready for the ride

The Preparation document helps you consider all aspects of getting ready for the trip/ride, even planning lodging, short-term boarding, and road conditions

The Elevation Profile provides insights to how strenuous the ride will be and whether physical conditioning is needed before the ride


… learn about the area

The History/Photos document provides interesting historical information about the trail, the general area, and points of interest. There are photos and descriptions of what you’ll see on the trail so you’ll know what to look for and not miss a thing!


… drive to the staging area

The Driving Instructions and Staging Info document – which includes a map, mileage, and landmarks – will get you to the staging area and describe it in detail


… navigate the trail

The Trail Report, Trail Map, and downloadable GPS coordinates will help you stay on track. Read the trail report prior to riding the trail to get an overall sense of where the trail will lead you. Refer to the Trail Map and GPS coordinates during the ride. It’s probably a good idea to bring the Trail Report along for reference
